Abstinence
All Catholics 14 years old and older are to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and on all the Fridays of Lent.
Fasting
All Catholics from the age of 18 to the beginning of the sixtieth year may take only one full meal on Ash Wednesday and on Good Friday. However, two smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to one‘s needs; but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted.
